IT LIVES!

So, I haven't touched this in a while. Heck I'm not even sure people even go here, but whatevs.

Tried something new this time, done exclusively in Photoshop CS4. Using brush tips from one of my favorite DeviantArt artists WarrenLouw, clearly it's not the brush or the software but the artist, but hey at least I'm trying. Photoshop is a completely different animal from Corel Painter, but it'd be nice to be proficient and both.

Enough rambling, hopefully there's more to come.

Random Sketches

So I figured, since I do technically have a lot of sketches and doodles that I do when I have free time or when I'm bored, why not upload them? Originally I wanted to transfer them digitally but since most of them were done in a steno pad and I don't actually have scanner, I took pictures of them with my phone instead. Eventually I lost interest in ever tracing over them so here they are.

Seeing color through your eyes

So obviously, the title is a bit of a literal translation, but also in figurative sense. Original concept was suppose to be a girl with a camera, but I thought better of it (would've made more sense, probably) because I didn't feel like drawing a camera.

Also, I suck at hands.

The Crow

Darker than the usual work. Not that that's saying much. Made with some dull conte, airbrushes, detail oil brush and whole lot of blenders. Based on The Crow. A wee bit on the /wrist emo side methinks.

Mighty Aphrodite

Took me long enough to actually finish this thing. Initial sketch in Painter, didn't turn out well even with adjustments in Paint.Net. So I redid the line art and the colors. Need work on my texturing. Had to use Photoshop CS4 for the final touches, particularly the color adjustments. Of course compared to the original concept (it was suppose to be an angel), and from this:
Part of me loved the hair color on the latter but wished it had the clarity of the former. Well, at least I got that out of the way and learned a bit on adjusting color and a bit on lighting. Hopefully the next project turns out better.

Redhead in Green

This little lady was suppose to be a full body thing that kinda got screwed over when I started drawing hands. Still, I'm proud at how the colors came out on this one, it's a clear improvement over the first two ones posted. Hopefully, I can get back to that project and actually draw a decent set of hands. I am certainly loving how Just Add Water can help compensate for my lack of ability in shading properly.
